Pune's street food scene is a vibrant chaotic mix of student-budget friendly snacks and heritage carts that have served the same family recipe for three generations.
The Staples of the Street
Vada Pav: The Maharashtrian Burger
You cannot talk about street food without the iconic Vada Pav. While Mumbai claims it, Pune has perfected its own variants—often served with an absurd amount of dry garlic chutney (lasun chutney) and fried green chilies. Garden Vada Pav in Camp is legendary, often selling out within hours of opening.

Kacchi Dabeli: The Sweet and Spicy Parcel
Originating from Kutch, the Dabeli found a massive audience in Pune's student areas like FC Road and JM Road. It's a sweet, tangy, and spicy potato mixture stuffed inside a pav, heavily garnished with pomegranate seeds, roasted peanuts, and sev.

Where to Eat
If you only have one evening, head straight to Saras Baug Khau Galli or FC Road. These areas are densely packed with vendors selling everything from buttery Pav Bhaji to piping hot crispy Jalebis.
